Florida State transfer DE Marvin Jones signs with Oklahoma
DE Marvin Jones has signed with Oklahoma from the NCAA Transfer Portal per On3’s Pete Nakos.
This comes after visiting the Sooners and, reportedly, Texas since the turn of the new year last week.
Jones Jr. spent two seasons at Georgia before transferring last offseason to Florida State, his father and uncle’s alma mater.
In total, Jones Jr. has appeared in 36 collegiate games with the ‘Dawgs and ‘Noles. He has posted 41 tackles, sick sacks, and a pair of forced fumbles in those outings. That includes a career-best season with 25 tackles, four sacks, and one of the fumbles in 11 games this fall at FSU.
Jones Jr. was the No. 3 edge and No. 20 overall transfer during the last cycle in 2024. Now, per the latest in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players, Jones Jr. is the No. 10 edge and the No. 101 overall player.

Jones Jr. is now the dozenth addition in the portal this cycle for OU. He comes to Norman alongside QBs John Mateer (Washington State) and Cole Gonzales (Western Carolina), TEs Carson Kent (Kennesaw State) and Will Huggins (Pitt State), OT Derek Simmons (Western Carolina), four wide receivers in Isaiah Sategna (Arkansas), Josiah Martin (California), Javonnie Gibson (Arkansas-Pine Bluff), and Keontez Lewis (Southern Illinois), and a pair of specialists in K Austin Welch and P Jacob Ulrich, who are both also from Kennesaw State.
With that, Jones Jr. is now the second highest-rated pickup for Oklahoma this offseason behind only Mateer (No. 1 overall, No. 1 QB).
