Former Oklahoma Sooners defensive lineman Du’Vonta Lampkin was reportedly shot and killed earlier this week, according to a report from KFOR.com. Lampkin, who was just 25 years old, was reportedly found in an Airbnb in Texas with a single gunshot wound, and he was declared dead at the scene.

“Investigators say when Lampkin was not answering phone calls, a witness went to check on him. When they arrived, they found him suffering from a gunshot wound,” KFOR.com’s K. Querry-Thompson wrote.

Lampkin’s phone, wallet and backpack were all missing when police arrived on scene.

Lampkin spent three years at Oklahoma from 2015-2017. In 2016, he totaled five tackles and two tackles for loss in five games. During the 2017 season, he had 22 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. Lampkin was undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.

According to the Dallas Police Department, Lampkin was renting the place where the shooting occurred. He was waiting to move into a new apartment.
