Former San Diego State defensive back Dezjhon Malone has announced his transfer to Oklahoma via social media.

“Truly Thankful for every opportunity in this process, excited to announce I am fully committed to the University of Oklahoma!” he wrote on X.

In 33 career games for the Aztecs, Malone has accumulated 23 starts including 89 tackles (67 solo), four tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, and 12 passes defended. He has one year of eligibility remaining to play under Sooners head coach Brent Venables in 2024.

Malone played high school football at Edison (CA) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,770 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

He will now be a part of Oklahoma’s initial roster that will make the jump alongside Texas to join the Southeastern Conference. Before that, the Sooners will battle Arizona in the Alamo Bowl.
