4-star 2023 tight end Luke Hasz decommits from Oklahoma
Bixby (Okla.) tight end Luke Hasz has decommitted from Oklahoma, he announced Saturday night.
Hasz is the No. 97 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 9 tight end and the No. 1 prospect in Oklahoma.
“After talking with my family I believe it’s in my best interest to decommit from OU at this time and reopen my recruitment, Hasz wrote on Twitter. “Thank you Sooner Nation for your continued support in this process!”
He is the fifth Oklahoma 2023 commitment to back off his pledge to the Sooners since head coach Lincoln Riley left for USC. All five have been ranked among the top 150 players in the country, including Five-Star Plus quarterback Malachi Nelson. He and four-star wide receiver Makai Lemon have already committed to the Trojans.

The Sooners, who prior to Riley’s departure had the No. 1 class in 2023, have fallen out of the top 10 and now hold just two commitments. They have yet to hire a replacement for Riley, but reports have emerged that they are targeting Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables as the next head coach.
In August, Luke Hasz chose the Sooners over more than 30 other offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M.
