Los Angeles (Calif.) Leuzinger EDGE and Michigan pledge Kevonte Henry has flipped his commitment from the Wolverines to Oklahoma, he announced Wednesday on National Signing Day.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder is the No. 263 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 28 EDGE and the No. 21 senior prospect in California.

On3’s own rankings are quite a bit higher on Henry, labeling him as the No. 175 prospect nationally. No. 13 EDGE and No. 9 prospect in California.

He had been committed to Michigan since late June, but opted not to sign with the Wolverines during the Early Signing Period. Henry drew interest from a number of schools since then, including Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Florida and Arizona.

He visited the Sooners two weeks ago, and they had been trending as his likely landing spot. He scheduled a trip last month to see Florida right before signing day; however, he canceled that and instead headed to Arizona for an official. The race came down to the Sooners and Bearcats, with Brent Venables and Co. ultimately winning out.
