4-star tight end Jason Llewellyn visited by Oklahoma coaches
Aledo (Texas) tight end Jason Llewellyn is one of Oklahoma’s longest standing commitments, and the four-star tight end hosted the Sooners for an in-home visit Friday.
Llewellyn is the No. 447 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 23 tight end and the No. 68 prospect in the state of Texas.
With head coach Lincoln Riley moving on to USC, it was interim head coach Bob Stoops and tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley visiting Llewellyn.
Jason Llewellyn remains solid with Oklahoma
The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder chose the Sooners in February over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Michigan, Ole Miss and others. Even with Riley’s departure, he has remained committed to Oklahoma.

Since Riley’s move, OU has lost seven commitments between the 2022 and 2023 classes.
Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage four-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss, the No. 21 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class, was the first player to publically decommit, announcing his decision at 7:31 p.m. EST on Sunday.
Six players followed him. In the 2022 class, Orange (Texas) West-Orange Stark four-star interior offensive lineman Demetrius Hunter, Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star defensive lineman Derrick Moore and Lubbock (Texas) Lubbock-Cooper four-star linebacker Kobie McKinzie all decommitted, dropping the class to 14 commits.
The biggest player to decommit was Los Alamitos (Calif.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson. Nelson is the No. 3 prospect and No. 2 quarterback in the 2023 class. He later flipped his commitment to USC. He was later joined by four-star 2022 wideout Raleek Brown and four-star 2023 wide receiver Makai Lemon.
