4-star TE Jelani Thurman picks up Oklahoma offer
Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star tight end Jelani Thurman has earned an offer from Oklahoma.
He is the No. 138 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Thurman has previously named a top eight of Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Michigan State, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $106k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The 6-foot-5 tight end is making the most of his recruitment.
“I’ve always been ‘Tank’, but it’s a lot more people see (what I can do),” Thurman told On3. “It’s completely different from last year. Around this time last year, I had two or three offers with no stars. Now, I’m a four-star and everybody is seeing the work that I’ve put in.”
The Sooners have four commits in their 2023 recruiting class, which ranks 18th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. It is currently headlined by Denton (Texas) Guyer four-star quarterback Jackson Arnold.
