WATCH: Jocelyn Alo hits monster home run to extend Oklahoma's lead vs. UCLA
Oklahoma sure doesn’t look like a team that’s going to lose two games in one day. Based on Jocelyn Alo’s moonshot in the second inning, she and the Sooners mean business.
Alo hit a three-run home run — Oklahoma’s second three-run blast in as many innings — to extend the Sooners lead to 6-0 over UCLA in a winner-take-all game for a chance to advance to the championship series. To say she got all of it would be an understatement, and Beth Mowins’ call pretty much sums up how far it went.
Oklahoma got things going early on in the second game of the day against UCLA when Tiare Jennings hit a three-run blast of her own to give the Sooners the early lead. UCLA handed Oklahoma its third loss of the season in Game 1 to force the if-necessary game 30 minutes later thanks in large part to a big day from Maya Brady. She had two home runs and five RBI to lead the Bruins to the 7-3 victory.
It’s been a long time since Oklahoma lost two games in a row. According to the ESPN broadcast, you have to go back to 2016 to find the last time the Sooners lost back-to-back games. That’s a total of 2,306 days since Patty Gasso and Co. have lost two straight matchups.
The winner of the second game between Oklahoma and UCLA advances to the championship series of the Women’s College World Series.

Oklahoma strikes first in WCWS rematch against UCLA with Tiare Jennings home run
No. 1 seed Oklahoma wasted no time getting on the board in its second game vs. UCLA of the day on Monday.
Tiare Jennings stepped to the plate and hit a three-run home run in the top of the first inning to give the Sooners a 3-0 lead out of the gate in the if-necessary game. It’s the first lead of the day for Oklahoma, which fell to the Bruins 7-3 in the first game on Monday.
All of the runs in the first game came via home runs, including two blasts from UCLA’s Maya Brady. She hit the dagger in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Bruins to the upset victory — and hand Oklahoma just its third loss of the season.
