Oklahoma star Jocelyn Alo continued her incredible performance in Game 1 of the WCWS Final, hitting her second home run of the game. Alo opened the game with a two-run home run in the first inning, and proceeded to score a run on each of her next four at-bats — including a solo home run in the fifth inning. Cameras caught the moment from the stands, showing the fans react to her second home run of the game.

The run was also Alo’s 323rd career RBI, giving her sole possession of second place all-time. She is now just five RBIs away from tying the all-time record of 328, set in 1996.

After her first home run, Texas continued pitching to Alo to lead-off the second inning and she hit a double into center field. Her third at-bat came with another runner on second base, similar to her first inning home run, and Texas hit Alo on the first pitch as it went inside towards her hip.

With her fourth at-bat, Alo drove the ball just over the wall — giving the Sooners a massive 13-1 lead over the Longhorns. As fans of the Sooners and her teammates have noted, Alo’s hitting often inspires rallies from the rest of her teammates — and it held true again on Wednesday night. Both of Alo’s home runs came before another teammate hitting a home run in the same inning.

Fellow home run threat Tiare Jennings matched Alo immediately after her deep shot, hitting back-to-back solo home runs to extend the Oklahoma lead to 14-1. Jennings was three-for-four on the day through five innings, including two home runs of her own. The Sooners had six home runs on the game — the most in a WCWS game ever.

The Sooners 14 runs scored gave them 52 total runs scored in the 2022 WCWS — a new record for total runs scored. Alo and her teammates have done tremendous damage throughout with the long ball, with 36 of their 52 runs coming off of home runs.
