Denton (Texas) Guyer five-star safety Peyton Bowen has been committed to Notre Dame since Jan. 1. He is still considering multiple programs, including Oklahoma. Bowen demonstrated his interest in the Sooners on Thursday night by wearing Oklahoma gloves for his game against Lancaster (Texas), as well as some Sooners wristbands.

Bowen is the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-0, 185 pound prospect is rated higher by On3 than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 2 player in Texas.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, there is a 19.7% chance that Bowen flips from Notre Dame to the Sooners. Bowen recently spoke about what interests him about Oklahoma.

“… OU-wise, I want to see how they do with Venables and with that defense and matching with Lebby’s offense,” Bowen told On3. “Since he’s such high pace, I want to see how they do in the Big 12 and if they can win that conference.”

Bowen has an On3 NIL Valuation of $208K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
