WATCH: Marvin Mims gets fired up after long touchdown pass from Dillon Gabriel
Marvin Mims couldn’t contain his excitement following a long touchdown pass from Dillon Gabriel. After scoring to tie the game at 14 in the second quarter against Kansas State, the Oklahoma receiver let out all his emotion.
Gabriel hit Mims in stride for the 50-yard score as took a few steps forward and found himself in the end zone. Mims then ran past the back of the end zone to the wall, where he emphatically hit the padding three times in celebration.
Both of Oklahoma’s touchdowns so far Saturday evening have been at least 50 yards or more after Gabriel also found Theo Wease for a 56-yard score in the first quarter. After at one point being down 14-0 in the first quarter, Oklahoma has responded quickly to avoid letting the game get out of hand.
Kansas State would go on to answer the touchdown from Marvin Mims with an 11-play, 42-yard scoring drive to retake the lead on a touchdown run from Adrian Martinez. After that, Oklahoma went on to score a field goal to make it 21-17 with 2:47 left in the half. Kansas State then kicked a field goal to take a 24-17 advantage into halftime.

Theo Wease scores 56-yard touchdown in first quarter
After Oklahoma found itself down 14-0 in the first quarter against Kansas State, receiver Theo Wease teamed up with quarterback Dillon Gabriel for an answer. Wease got wide open behind the Wildcats defense, and Gabriel hit him in stride for the catch.
Wease then looked ahead and saw plenty of open field in front of him as he ran the remaining 30-plus yards for the 56-yard touchdown. The score cut the deficit to just one touchdown with 2:32 remaining in the first quarter.
The score was the biggest play for OU so far, as the Sooners were forced to punt on their first two drives of the game. At the end of the first quarter, Gabriel was 5-of-10 passing for 87 yards and a touchdown.
