Junction City (Kan.) three-star linebacker Michael Boganowski has been a top target for a handful of Midwest programs over the past few months, but one is trending heavily in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

After the latest picks from around the recruiting industry, Oklahoma holds a 65.7 percent chance of landing Boganowski’s commitment. Kansas State was previously the slight favorite but the Sooners are now in strong contention to land the top recruit in the state of Kansas this cycle.

“In the case of Boganowski there seems to be a bit of a good wave of feelings for the Sooners but again, it’s one of those things that until it’s across the finish line there will always be trepidation,” SoonerScoop.com recruiting insider Josh McCuistion wrote last week. “We keep coming back, both with you all and in conversations with sources, to the comparison to Sooners freshman Peyton Bowen.

… For months Bowen and Oklahoma seemed headed in the right direction but they never could quite cross the finish line. Then of course Bowen did break his near-year long commitment to Notre Dame. The problem? It was for Oregon. Then some wild National Signing Day shenanigans saw the Sooners land him in the end. Oklahoma will hope for the same for Boganowski, perhaps without some of the teeth-gnashing down the stretch. And according to sources there is reason for that optimism but much like Grant Brix, no one will know until they know.”

The Sooners are also trending for Tampa Catholic four-star interior offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis following predictions logged by national recruiting analysts. Oklahoma has a 63.1% chance to land the 6-foot-3, 335-pounder’s commitment, while UCF is now in second at 29.2%.

Pierre-Louis is the No. 329 overall prospect and No. 27 IOL in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On Sept. 3, he named a top five of Oklahoma, UCF, OregonMiami and Texas A&M.

SoonerScoop’s Josh McCuistion placed an RPM pick in favor of Oklahoma on Oct. 4. The Sooners had Pierre-Louis in Norman for an official visit in June — his only OV thus far. Oklahoma signed his Tampa Catholic teammate, four-star linebacker Lewis Carter, last cycle.

“I have a great relationship with the O-line coach (Bill Bedenbaugh). He has recruited me since freshman year and he produces offensive linemen,” Pierre-Louis told On3’s Hayes Fawcett of Oklahoma upon naming his final five schools.
