Oklahoma is without leading rusher Tawee Walker for Saturday’s game against UCF. The running back was not on the field during warmups, according to On3’s George Stoia.

According to Parker Thune, Walker will miss the game due to a personal reason.

So far this season, Tawee Walker has 53 carries for 239 yards and four touchdowns. He is averaging 4.5 yards per carry. Walker also has seven receptions for 66 yards.

In addition to Walker, fellow running back Marcus Major is reportedly limited due to a shoulder injury. Major has played early on in the game, though.

Tawee Walker is in his second season at Oklahoma after transferring in from Palomar Junior College. During his first season with the Sooners, he had 62 rushing yards on 18 carries.

Oklahoma is looking to remain undefeated on the season on Saturday against UCF.

The Sooners had a bye week this past weekend, after beating Texas in the Red River Showdown on Oct. 7.

Dillon Gabriel reveals what he wants Oklahoma offense to improve on in second half of year

Oklahoma is undefeated and playing well on both sides of the ball through the first six games of the season, but quarterback Dillon Gabriel still sees room for improvement.

“Yeah I just think it’s just as a group we gotta be better, and I say that there’s parts where we can get away from people and we leave them in the game,” Gabriel said. “And I think us being able to take advantage every opportunity, close the door early, and just knowing how good we can be because we haven’t played our best football.”

Gabriel leads the Big 12 Conference with 1,878 passing yards and 16 touchdown passes, serving as the engine of the Sooners’ high powered offense that leads the conference in scoring at 45.2 points per game.

The Sooners have slightly taken their foot off of the gas in the second half of a handful of games offensively this season, but if they’re yet to play their best football yet, the Big 12 Conference better beware.

Only three teams in the nation score more points per game than Oklahoma, and their passing attack ranks fourth in the nation averaging 341.2 yards through the air per game.

Nobody has yet found a recipe to stop the Sooners offense, as they remain one of 11 remaining unbeaten teams in the FBS. They stand alone atop the Big 12 standings, but if they can continue to improve like Gabriel is forecasting, then the whole nation may have to be put on notice regarding the Sooners this season.
