Oklahoma commit 4-star LB Kip Lewis reviewing options
Carthage (Texas) four-star linebacker Kip Lewis is staying committed to Oklahoma for the time being but is exploring other options.
“At this time I’m committed to OU but, I do have decisions to make before signing day,” Lewis tweeted Tuesday, his first public comments since Lincoln Riley was officially hired as USC‘s head coach Sunday.
Lewis is the No. 256 overall prospect and No. 29 linebacker in the nation, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He committed to the Sooners in April.
Seven players have decommitted from Oklahoma since Sunday: Los Alamitos (Calif.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson, Miami Gardens (Fla.) American Heritage four-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss and Jacksonville Trinity Christian Academy four-star running back Treyaun Webb, Los Alamitos (Calif.) four-star athlete Makai Lemon, Lubbock (Texas) Lubbock-Cooper four-star linebacker Kobie McKinzie, Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star defensive lineman Derrick Moore and Orange (Texas) West-Orange Stark four-star interior offensive lineman Demetrius Hunter.

Nelson has already committed to USC, becoming the first player to flip from the Sooners to the Trojans — and he will not be the last.
As of Tuesday night, Oklahoma has 14 commits in its 2022 class, which ranks No. 9 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
Lakeland (Fla.) five-star defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy is the crown jewel of the class, and is still committed to the program. He told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Instagram Live that he is going to take the week to think things through.
He also gave his opinion on Riley’s decision.
“I was pretty surprised about what happened,” Brownlow-Dindy said. “It was his decision. I just don’t like how he left because he kind of left a whole bunch of 17 year olds, 18 year olds to fend for themselves after the pitch that he made and all that type of stuff. He has a whole bunch of players scrambling around trying to find other schools and not knowing with what’s going to happen for the future of Oklahoma is crazy.”
