Oklahoma cornerback Makari Vickers plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Oklahoma defensive back Makari Vickers plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Vickers just wrapped up his second season in Norman, both played under head coach Brent Venables. However, he has decided to move on and will finish out his college career elsewhere.
Vickers appeared in 12 games throughout his time with the Sooners, four of which took place during the 2024 season. Nine total tackles and a pass breakup can be found on the stat sheet, most of which occurred as a true freshman.
Presumably, only four games played meant Vickers took a redshirt. If true, he will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next destination. Plenty of teams should be in on Vickers considering his recruiting profile coming out of high school.
Vickers played high school football at Tallahassee (FL) Robert F Munroe Day School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 83 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Alabama and Michigan were the two other finalists for Vickers in his original recruitment.

Oklahoma tight end Bauer Sharp plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Oklahoma tight end Bauer Sharp plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Sharp spent just one season with the Sooners but will be on the move for the second consecutive offseason. One year of eligibility remains for Sharp after completing his fourth season of play.
Sharp played in all 12 games for Oklahoma this season and was a huge part of the offense. His 42 receptions for 324 yards were good enough to lead the Sooners in both categories. Two touchdowns were added as the tight end was a favorite target, no matter who was playing quarterback.
A redshirt year while at Southeast Louisiana is why Sharp is able to play one more year in college. One final ride will begin by attempting to find a new home for the 2025 season.
