Oklahoma DB Jayden Rowe plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Rowe shared his intentions to do so with a graphic in a social media post on Friday. When he’s officially in, he’ll commit elsewhere with two to three years of college eligibility left to play with.

“First, thank you, God, for allowing me to play the game I love! Also, thank you to my parents for helping me through this process. I couldn’t be here without them,” Rowe wrote. “I want to thank Coach Venables for allowing me to play for the University of Oklahoma, pushing me to the limit to be tremendous, and continuing my academic and athletic career. I appreciate all of my teammates, Sooner Nation, and the entire staff for making me feel accepted.”

“After much thought and prayer, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 2-3 years of eligibility remaining,” wrote Rowe.

Rowe appeared in just a handful of games on defense and special teams through three seasons, mostly as a freshman, though, in Norman. Injuries had a lot to do with that, especially last fall after suffering a season-ending one in their opener. He then didn’t appear in any games this season either.

With that, Rowe has recorded no statistics while in college.

Rowe, a native of Tulsa, played high school football at Union. He was the No. 280 overall recruit there as a four-star prospect in the 2022 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 30 CB in the class and the No. 6 player out of the state of Oklahoma.
