Oklahoma lands commitment from 2023 TE Luke Hasz
2023 Bixby (Okla.) tight end Luke Hasz shut down his recruitment Friday afternoon, announcing his commitment to Oklahoma.
Hasz, who’s rated as a four-star prospect across recruiting services, chose Oklahoma over the likes of Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and LSU. The addition of Hasz elevates the Sooners to the number two recruiting class in 2023.
Just three days ago, Hasz announced his top eight schools but seemingly came to a decision within the last 72 hours. Hasz became a top priority for the Sooners after they offered in January of 2021. The Sooners hosted Hasz for the ChampU BBQ recruiting event in June.
This could be the start of another big recruiting weekend for the Sooners. Earlier this summer, five-star Los Alamitos (CA.) quarterback Malachi Nelson committed to Oklahoma and on Tuesday, Nelson’s five-star teammate, Makai Lemon will be making his announcement, with Oklahoma expected to be a major contender for his services.
Luke Hasz joins Nelson and four-star running back Treyuan Webb from Trinity Christian Academy (FL.), in the Sooners’ 2023 recruiting class.

Aside from the four already mentioned, Oklahoma is a major contender in the recruitments of five-star American Heritage (FL.) wide receiver Brandon Inniss, four-star Longview (TX.) wide receiver Jalen Hale and four-star DeSoto (TX.) wide receiver Johntay Cook, among others.
Hasz joins a tight end room at Oklahoma that currently features senior Brayden Willis, junior Austin Stogner, redshirt freshman Jackson Sumlin, redshirt senior Jeremiah Hall and freshman Kayhon Russell. The Sooners also hold commitments from 2022 Bellevue West (NE.) tight end Kaden Helms and 2022 Aledo (TX.) tight end Jason Llewellyn.
Last season, Hasz played both ways for the Bixby Spartans, lining up at wide receiver and as an edge defender. He had 703 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on just 32 receptions. Hasz played a key role in Bixby bringing home their third-straight state title, as the Spartans defeated Choctaw 17-14 to win the 6AII state title.
Bixby is currently riding a 36-game winning streak heading into Hasz’s junior season. He stars alongside 2022 Oklahoma State athlete commit Braylin Presley. Hasz’s twin brother, Dylan, also stars for the Spartans.
Hasz is committed to the 2023 Under Armour All-American Game.
