Since former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley’s departure for USC in November, there have been numerous Sooners players looking to follow him to the West Coast, or at the very least, entering the transfer portal.

Their decision-making has drawn the ire of Oklahoma and NFL-bound linebacker Nik Bonitto, who took his feelings to Twitter on Saturday night.

Clearly, Bonitto is unhappy with his teammates’ allegiance, or lack thereof, to the program in Norman.

The highest-profile and most surprising transfer out of the Oklahoma program is Caleb Williams, the true freshman quarterback who entered the transfer portal on Jan. 5.

At this point, it is expected Williams will likely head to USC. He recently visited Southern California and posted on social media from the Los Angeles Rams game at SoFi Stadium.

Former Oklahoma wide receiver Mario Williams announced he would transfer to USC today, fueling the Caleb-Williams-to-USC fire. The wideout position has been hit pretty hard since Riley’s departure, as Jadon Haselwood is headed to Arkansas, and Mike Woods is forgoing his last year of collegiate eligibility to head to the NFL.

No. 2 quarterback Spencer Rattler also entered the portal and headed to South Carolina, although his move was less shocking given Williams had taken over the starting spot in October.

Morris makes transfer decision

While he is not headed to USC, former Oklahoma linebacker Jamal Morris announced his new home on Saturday. The Houston native is headed back to his family, announcing he would continue his college football career at Houston.

He announced his entry into the transfer portal on Dec. 14. The reserve linebacker had three tackles during the 2021 season in very limited action. In 2020, he had five tackles in limited snaps.

Coming out of Fort Bend Bush High School, he was rated as a four-star prospect by major recruiting services and was even named an Under Armour All-American. During his career there–he racked up nearly 200 tackles (34 for loss), three interceptions, and 5.5 sacks.

When he chose Oklahoma, he picked the Sooners over offers from LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas and others.
