Oklahoma linebacker Phil Picciotti plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Oklahoma linebacker Phil Picciotti plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Picciotti just wrapped up his second season in Norman but will have four years of eligibility remaining according to Fawcett. Another player leaving the Sooners early in the offseason.
During his true freshman year, Picciotti suffered a season-ending knee surgery. A medical redshirt was given and a normal redshirt was used in 2024 after not appearing in any games. Picciotti will leave the program before ever being able to take the field for Oklahoma.
Picciotti played high school football at IMG Academy but is originally from Perkasie, PA. He was a three-star prospect. Additionally, Picciotti was the No. 574 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
A trio of other power conference programs were in the running for Picciotti’s signature coming out of high school. Auburn was the lone SEC team, while Michigan and Nebraska out of the Big Ten were considered to be in the race.

If those teams want to get back in the race for Picciotti, he should be on the open market in the near future.

Oklahoma wide receiver Brenen Thompson enters NCAA transfer portal
Oklahoma receiver Brenen Thompson has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.
Thompson is a junior receiver who has had an impact for the Sooners for the past two seasons, serving as one of the team’s ancillary options in the passing game.
He is coming off a 2024 season in which he recorded 19 catches for 230 yards and two touchdowns. He was equally productive the season before that, too, recording seven catches for 241 yards and two touchdowns.
During that time, Thompson has proven he can be a big-play threat, so he’ll certainly have a market in the transfer portal.
