Oklahoma OL Eugene Brooks enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Oklahoma offensive lineman Eugene Brooks has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. Brooks was ranked as the No. 89 overall player in the country and No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the nation in the class of 2024, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
He received minimal playing time this past season as Oklahoma finished with a 6-6 record in the regular season. The Sooners are slated to face Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl to close out 2024.
Eugene Brooks signed with Oklahoma after attending Sierra Canyon High in California. He was an Under Armour All-American in 2023.
Brooks initially chose Oklahoma over offers from Texas, USC, Georgia, Oregon and plenty of other high-profile programs.
It will be interesting to see where Eugene Brooks ends up next and what kind of contributor he can be for a program during the 2025 college football season.

Stanford transfer OL Luke Baklenko commits to Oklahoma
Yes, Oklahoma is losing Eugene Brooks to the portal, but the Sooners also picked up an offensive line commit from the portal on Monday.
Former Stanford Cardinal offensive lineman Luke Baklenko is taking his talents to Norman, committing to join the Oklahoma Sooners via the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on Monday.
Baklenko played the past two seasons with Stanford, but he was looking to move on and battle elsewhere. He appeared in five games as a true freshman for the Cardinal, before playing 11 games this season as a sophomore and becoming a coveted lineman in the portal.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Baklenko was a three-star recruit out of Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 60 overall prospect in the state, the No. 43 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 710 overall prospect in the class.
