Oklahoma RB Emeka Megwa plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Oklahoma running back Emeka Megwa plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Thursday evening. He’ll have three years of eligibility remaining.
He played his high school football at Timber Creek High School (Fort Worth, Texas). He transferred there in January of his junior season. Megwa played his freshman through his junior seasons at Nolan Catholic High School. During their shortened 2020 season, he rushed for 730 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 133 carries. He guided the Vikings to an 8-1 record in their shortened 2020 season. He was named first team all-state and all district during his junior year.
Megwa was ranked as a four-star prospect in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also tabbed as the No. 288 overall player in the country.
The Oklahoma offensive attack is going through plenty of changes this off-season, with former five-star recruit Jackson Arnold hitting the portal. The Sooners also hired a new offensive coordinator, Ben Arbuckle.

Mateer also had four games of at least 300 passing yards.
The 29-year-old Arbuckle is set to replace Seth Littrell, who was fired seven games into the 2024 season. He will be the third full-time offensive coordinator at Oklahoma in the past four years under Brent Venables.
