Oklahoma receives positive update on Damond Harmon following scary injury
The Oklahoma Sooners received a positive update regarding the health of Damond Harmon after his scary injury on Saturday. Harmon needed to be carted off the field during the fourth quarter against TCU, with the sophomore cornerback being stabilized on a board and loaded onto a stretcher.

The broadcast team reported that Harmon was conscious and alert as he left the field, and a more positive update shortly came afterwards.
“We were just told that Damond Harmon was able to move his arms and legs but he has been transferred to a local hospital for further evaluation,” explained Big 12 Today‘s Gabe Ikard.
The Sooners cornerback suffered the injury while making a tackle during the fourth quarter, and appeared to injure his head or neck on the play with he neck snapping back from the impact. After the injury, Harmon remained on the field for an extended period of time and eventually was loaded onto a stretcher and carted off the field.

The moment was captured by both the broadcast and via a photograph by Robert Griffin III, who was on the call for ABC in the broadcasting booth. Griffin showed how both teams stood on the field as Harmon was attended to in a scary situation.
The update that Harmon had movement in his extremities is a great update for fans of both teams to hear, as the risk involved with head or neck injuries is always severe. Harmon was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The situation had an extra layer of scariness for fans of the sport after Thursday night’s NFL matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals. Dolphins quarterback and former Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa suffered a severe injury after being sacked that saw him be carted off the field and taken to a local hospital as well. Just two days after fans saw Tagovailoa’s injury, Harmon found himself in a similar situation.
