Oklahoma coaches visit 5-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi
After signing a pair of offensive tackles in the 2024 recruiting cycle, Oklahoma is again looking to reload at the position in 2025.
At the top of that list is Michael Fasusi, a 6-foot-4, 287-pound offensive tackle out of Lewisville (Texas). Fasusi ranks as the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle in the rising senior class and is one of 15 five-star prospects early on in the cycle.
Oklahoma’s staff, led by offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and head coach Brent Venables, have made him a top priority. This fall, he told On3’s Chad Simmons that the Sooners will make his top schools list once he decides to cut it down.
“I am working on getting my list down, and I know Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and USC will be up there,” Fasusi said. “Those are four schools I have visited, I talk to them a lot and I am not sure when I will cut my list down, but those schools will be up there for a long time. I know I like them.”
On Wednesday, Bedenbaugh, Venables and new co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell visited Fasusi at his school.
“Loved seeing my guys today. #Boomer,” he wrote on Twitter.
Fasusi will continue to visit the Sooners
Fasusi was in Norman in September for Oklahoma’s win over SMU, his sixth visit to campus as a recruit. And the Sooners continued to make an impression on him.
“I was at the Oklahoma spring game, but this was my first real game,” Fasusi said at the time. “I expected the best from them and they showed it. The team did their thing and the O-Line did their thing. There were no surprises.”

Bedenbaugh has led the charge in his recruitment, and he will be a key factor as Oklahoma battles Texas, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia and a host of other programs recruiting him.
“Me and my family are tight with Coach B,” he said. “We are on the phone a lot and he is always there for me. He is going to pick up when I call and he is always in contact with my family too. That is why we love him and the school so much. He is family. … Oklahoma is definitely up at the top and I feel 100% good about them.”
Other programs battling to stay in the mix
Already this month, coaches from Texas A&M and Ohio State have been in to visit Fasusi, and he took his first unofficial visit to Missouri as well. The Tigers, coming off an 11-win season and a Cotton Bowl victory, impressed him and his mother.
“It was amazing, one of the best visits I’ve ever been on,” Fasusi told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “I don’t think 100 out of 10 would even be enough. The main reason I went up there was because of the relationship I already had with them, so me having a great visit wasn’t surprising … they just exceeded my expectations.”
