Oklahoma trending for 4-star DL Kade Pietrzak
Oklahoma signed one of the country’s best defensive line hauls in the 2024 recruiting cycle, and their looking to follow it up with another strong group in 2025.
West Fargo (N.D.) Sheyenne four-star defensive lineman Kade Pietrzak has been one of the Sooners’ quieter targets on the trail, but make no mistake that he’s an important one.
The North Dakota native visited Norman in April and came away with a strong impression of the program, leading to OU getting him on campus earlier this month for an official visit. And coming out of that trip, the Sooners are trending as the favorite to land him over Nebraska, Kansas State, Wisconsin, and more than a dozen other programs.
On Tuesday, Kansas State recruiting insider Derek Young logged a pick with 80 percent confidence for OU to land Pietrzak, who was set to visit Manhattan this weekend.
Sooners have been quietly pushing hard for Pietrzak
The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder has already taken official visits with the Huskers, Badgers and Sooners.
“Pietrzak visited Oklahoma in early April and has said absolutely nothing to anyone about it since then. He’s an incredibly tough guy to know much about but the word was the Sooners trip went outstandingly well,” SoonerScoop.com‘s Josh McCuistion wrote earlier this month. “He’s a guy that sneakily could end up as part of this 2025 group.

Pietrzak is the No. 319 overall prospect and No. 26 DL in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3, however, is much higher on him than the rest of the recruiting services. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 177 overall prospect and No. 15 defensive lineman.
Should OU close on him, Pietrzak would be the second defensive line commit in the class, joining three-star Lee’s Summit (Mo.) standout Ka’Mori Moore.
