Oklahoma softball star Jayda Coleman went nuts in the bottom of the third inning in Game 2 of the Women’s College World Series. Sooners football coach Brent Venables, like the rest of America, noticed the insane catch.

Coleman robbed a would-be home run from Florida State’s Kalei Harding to keep the game scoreless. The ESPN broadcast then showed Coleman robbing another home run earlier this year against Texas, showcasing her insane athleticism.

So Venables, ever the jokester, decided to poke fun at one of his defenders, Billy Bowman.

“Better BallSkillz than ⁦(Billy Bowman⁩) (pointing up emoji, softball emoji > football emoji),” he wrote on Twitter.

Venables included a screenshot of the Coleman robbery against Texas. Maybe Bowman has some serious ball skills of his own.

The defensive back reeled in three interceptions last season for the Sooners and logged 60 total tackles on defense.

But basically, everything the Sooners are doing this year is insane.

Oklahoma is 60-1 on the year and with a win in Game 2, the team would win its third straight softball national title.

Patty Gasso describes reaching championship game with Oklahoma

Patty Gasso led Oklahoma to its fourth-straight Women’s College World Series championship game following Monday’s 4-2 victory over Stanford in extra innings.

The six-time WCWS championship-winning coach was relieved to see her Sooners’ season stay alive despite facing their hardest opposition of the postseason in Stanford. Gasso praised her pitching staff for helping OU advance to the national title game.

“What a battle today for both teams, very even and just back and forth the whole way. Challenging always at the plate, with both pitchers being very good,” Gasso said. “At the same time, Nicole May had a plan, and she executed it to the T … which is kind of what we were hoping for is to just keep the pitch count low on Jordy [Bahl] and work our way through this in case we had to go to that if game.

“But a clean game, an exciting game, but a great pitching duel. I think sometimes — we win a lot, and that’s fabulous. But sometimes I think we’re so used to taking it for granted, and this means a lot. This means a lot. To get to the championship game means a lot.”
