Oklahoma softball legend Jocelyn Alo shows off her WCWS Championship rings
Oklahoma softball legend Jocelyn Alo was in attendance on Saturday afternoon as the Sooners were taking on the Tennessee Volunteers in the 2023 version of the Women’s College World Series. The Sooners have been incredibly dominant this season, posting a near flawless record of 58-1 overall. Alo would know a thing or two about greatness. She cemented her legacy as one of the greatest college softball players of all-time during her time with Sooners. On Saturday, she decided to show off her rings while she was cheering on the Sooners in their march towards near perfection.
Oklahoma ended up dominating Tennessee on Saturday night to the score of a 9-0 victory. The game ended in five innings because the game was stopped due to a run rule. The Sooners crushed another couple of home runs and the final result was never in doubt as they shutout the Vols.
She helped guide the Sooners to two Women’s College World Series titles during her time there (2021 and 2022). In 2022, she earned Most Outstanding Player honors after guiding Oklahoma to back-to-back national crowns.
Alo wrapped up her career as one of the most decorated women’s college softball players of all-time. She’s just another reminder of how ridiculously dominant the Sooners softball program has become under Patty Gasso.

Alo wrapped up her career with the Sooners as the NCAA’s all-time leader in home runs (122), slugging percentage (.987), and total bases (761). She also ranks second all-time in RBIs (323) and fifth all-time in runs scored (281). She holds the Oklahoma records for batting average (.445), on-base percentage (.557), slugging, hits (343), runs, home runs, RBIs, total bases, and extra base hits (126). Alo also ranks second in program history for walks (183) and games played (267).
Basically, nearly every record imaginable, she shattered it during her time with the Oklahoma Sooners. She also performed well on the biggest of stages, she owns the WCWS career home run record (12). Alo belted 34 home runs in 2021 and 2022 to set the Oklahoma single season mark and the Big 12 single season mark in the process. Remarkably consistent, she went on a 40-game hit streak that went down as the second longest consecutive game hit streak in NCAA history. Alo also became the only player in NCAA D1 history to hit 30-plus home runs in three separate seasons (2018, 2021, and 2022).
If Oklahoma can win the WCWS crown this year, they’ll join the UCLA Bruins as the only other team in NCAA history to win back-to-back-to-back national crowns. At this point, it’s looking like an inevitable march to another national title for the Sooners. It’s not a matter of if, but when. If the Sooners can bring another one home, they’ll bring Hall of Fame head coach Patty Gasso her seventh national crown with Oklahoma.
