Oklahoma closer Trevin Michael explains reasoning behind trolling Virginia Tech
Oklahoma defeated Virginia Tech on Sunday and punched their ticket to the Men’s College World Series. As most teams do in college baseball, the Sooners had some fun with their post-game celebration and it began with closer Trevin Michael trolling the Hokies.
After the final out was recorded, Michael gave a two-finger wave in the direction of the Virginia Tech dugout. This was mocking their own relief pitcher, Kiernan Higgins, who does the celebration after every single game he closes out.
Michael explained his post-game move during a press conference. He said he was just backing up his own teammates and even had it planned out beforehand.
“I knew whenever we beat them today I was going to do it,” Michael said. “I take that as you showing up our team and I just wanted to return the favor.”
Michael pitched the final two innings for Oklahoma, striking out four and not allowing a hit. He will now go to Omaha and will have the opportunity to troll a few more teams as the Sooners charge on in their national championship hunt.

Cade Horton got the start at pitcher to earn the win after striking out eight batters across six innings.
The Hokies battled back in the bottom of the third inning. Carson DeMartini belted a two-run blast to knot the score up at 2-2, but that would be the last run for the Hokies would score all afternoon long.
Oklahoma then proceeded to rattle off nine unanswered runs to stun the Hokies in front of their home crowd in Blacksburg, Va. by the final score of 11-2.
