What Will the First Season in the SEC Look Like for Oklahoma?

Miami Central (Fla.) three-star defensive lineman Floyd Boucard is set to commit on Saturday, with hats for AlabamaMiamiOklahoma and USC expected to be on the table.

Each program hosted him for a June official visit, but the race has largely been down to the Trojans and Sooners in recent weeks, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

“I think that USC and Oklahoma are the programs to watch,” he said earlier this week. “We said recently that Miami was too, but as Miami continues through its process, they want to see more things from Floyd Boucard. I think Oklahoma and USC are the programs I’m watching. USC was the major team to beat coming out of his official visit, but Oklahoma grabbed some of that momentum late in the process.”

Now, a little more than 48 hours from Boucard’s decision, it’s indeed the Sooners trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

That comes after both Wiltfong and On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons logged picks in favor of OU.

Oklahoma has pushed hard for Boucard since January

The Sooners have been relentless in their pursuit of the 6-foot-2, 315-pounder in recent months, and it looks to be paying off.

“Coach Todd Bates is genuine. The coaches are great people and you find people like that everywhere,” Boucard told Simmons earlier this week. “They care for their players and they are loyal. Since offering me in January, they have talked to me non-stop.”

Communication is strong late between Boucard and the four schools, according to Simmons, but he is not feeling the pressure to give anyone an answer yet. He feels any of the four staffs will support him regardless of the school he commits to.

“All the coaches want me to make it. They all show love. It will come down to that family environment for me. I want to be in a great place where everyone is friendly with me and my family. How comfortable me and my family feel around the people and at the school will be big in my final decision this weekend.”

The Montreal, Quebec, native is the No. 453 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 42 defensive lineman and No. 61 prospect in the Sunshine State.
