Earlier this week, Oklahoma lost wide receiver Cody Jackson to the transfer portal. Thursday, he took to Twitter to share a message for Sooners fans.

Jackson went into the portal on Monday, just six days before the May 1 deadline for eligibility in 2022. The former four-star recruit only played in two games last season under Lincoln Riley and is now looking for a new home.

Three days after he went into the portal, Jackson penned his message for Sooner Nation.

“I sincerely thank the coaching staff at the University of Oklahoma for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to play at the highest level of Division I football, it has been an honor playing in ‘The Palace’ in front of Sooner Nation,” Jackson wrote, in part. “I am immensely grateful for Chris and Julie Watson, the care and support you showed was immeasurable, I truly thank you. To all my teammates and brothers, I will forever cherish the relationships we’ve built, as well as the countless hours we have put in together perfecting our craft.

“With this being said, I will be entering my name into the transfer portal, this will allow me to explore my options and find the best home for me. I look forward to what God has in store for my future and trust that He will guide me.”
