Oklahoma wide receiver JJ Hester enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver JJ Hester has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.
JJ Hester played high school football at Booker T. Washington (OK), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 295 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

This past season with the Sooners was a rollercoaster on the offensive side of the football. Hester didn’t have the best season, but he made the most of his opportunities, amassing 14 receptions for 315 yards and a touchdown.
Prior to Oklahoma, Hester played for the Missouri Tigers for one season. He spent 2023 and 2024 with the Sooners, but now he’ll evidently be elsewhere when 2025 rolls around.

More on the Oklahoma Sooners, NCAA Transfer Portal
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Oklahoma defensive back Makari Vickers is also planning to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Vickers just wrapped up his second season in Norman, both played under head coach Brent Venables. However, he has decided to move on and will finish out his college career elsewhere.
Vickers appeared in 12 games throughout his time with the Sooners, four of which took place during the 2024 season. Nine total tackles and a pass breakup can be found on the stat sheet, most of which occurred as a true freshman.
Presumably, only four games played meant Vickers took a redshirt. If true, he will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next destination. Plenty of teams should be in on Vickers considering his recruiting profile coming out of high school.
Vickers played high school football at Tallahassee (FL) Robert F Munroe Day School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 83 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
