On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Oklahoma trending for Jasiah Wagoner
Spanaway (Wash.) Spanaway Lake four-star cornerback Jasiah Wagoner is announcing his commitment on July 25. The 5-foot-10, 170 pound defensive back is deciding between California, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Sooners have a commanding lead for his pledge at 95%. The team with the next-highest odds is the Golden Bears at 2%.
Wagoner received an offer from Oklahoma on May 10. He has not visited Norman yet, according to the On3 Visit Center. However, he has taken official visits to California and Notre Dame, both of which occurred last month. Wagoner also took an unofficial visit to Texas on May 7 and an unofficial visit to Oregon on Jan. 22.
The four-star recruit told On3’s Chad Simmons in June that he is impressed by Sooners head coach Brent Venables and the culture he is building both on and off the field. He added that education, campus environment and development will be factors in his decision.
“It is not going to be an easy decision,” Wagoner said. “I still have a lot to think about.”
Recruiting impact if Wagoner commits to Oklahoma
The Sooners currently have the No. 12 class in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and the No. 2 class in the Big 12. The group is composed of one five-star, eight four-stars and seven three-stars.

If he chooses Oklahoma, Wagoner would be the first cornerback pledge for the Sooners in the 2023 cycle. Wagoner would also be Oklahoma’s second commitment from Washington alongside Snoqualmie (Wash.) Mount Si three-star offensive tackle Heath Ozaeta.
Wagoner, the No. 212 overall prospect and No. 26 cornerback in the 2023 On3 Consensus, would be the sixth-highest-ranked prospect in the Sooners’ group if he commits to Venables.
The only prospects that would be ranked ahead of him include Denton (Texas) Guyer five-star quarterback Jackson Arnold, Kansas City (Mo.) North Kansas City four-star EDGE Adepoju Adebawore, Houston (Texas) Langham Creek four-star wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway, Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North four-star offensive tackle Cayden Green and Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Catholic four-star linebacker Lewis Carter.
Other recruits in Oklahoma’s class include Crandall (Texas) four-star linebacker Samuel Omosigho and Charlotte (N.C.) West Charlotte four-star running back Daylan Smothers.
