Oklahoma and Kansas went back and forth heading into the final minute of Tuesday’s game. Ultimately, the Jayhawks won 79-75 — and Porter Moser saw some things on defense he didn’t like.

Oklahoma had a 73-70 lead with more than a minute to go, but KJ Adams threw down a dunk to make it a one-point game. After Tanner Groves missed a three on the other end, Kevin McCullar made a layup and drew a foul to give the Jayhawks a lead. They never looked back.

That transition sequence leading up to Adams’ dunk, though, jumped out to Moser after the game. He diagnosed the problem, as well.

“We were so worried about giving up threes in transition, then we let — I think it was KJ Adams that got down the middle. That was not a good defensive possession on the transition,” Moser said. “I think the guys were really worried about failing out on the three, and then we got kind of lost on that. You go from trying to physical and then all of a sudden you’re trying not to foul. I think the guys were playing all of a sudden not to foul because it was called so close on that end.”
