Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners advanced to 10-0 during this past Saturday night’s Bedlam victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

While it’s always nice to reach double-digit wins before losing your first game, the rivalry win had a little extra juice to it for Moser and company. Speaking with the media after the contest, the Oklahoma leader explained what it meant to defeat the Cowboys, and why he’ll be, “The biggest Oklahoma State fan,” moving forward.

“I’m excited for our guys, for a lot of reasons,” Moser said, regarding his jubilation after the victory. “One, we can keep trying to log in wins. Log in — I’m going to be the biggest Oklahoma State fan moving forward, hoping they win, you know, for us — getting resume wins. So, I was excited for that. I was excited for Sooner fans. It was great to see them come out. You know, it was really, really good. This game was replacing that Arkansas game in Tulsa. We had to go up to Tulsa, that was — I thought we had a great turnout, the Sooner fans. I was at a function for the Abbot House on Thursday night, and a couple people came up to me. They were good hearted. It was all like, ‘You better win Saturday.’ Okay, I’m at a charity function.

“So, it means a lot to the fanbase to win this game, and with us leaving to go to the SEC, it doesn’t mean rivalries have to die. I thought their fanbase was great too. I thought both fanbases were great. I thought the arena, the venue — everything was high level, and both fanbases came out. I thought it was great for the rivalry.”

As you can tell, it meant a ton to Moser and the Sooners to defeat the Cowboys over the weekend. Forward Sam Godwin helped get the job done at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, scoring 20 points for Oklahoma on their way to a 15-point win.

Moving forward, Oklahoma will hope to use the momentum gained from this past Saturday’s win to keep the good times rolling and remain undefeated. Their next clash will come with the Michigan Wolverines on Wednesday night. They’re 8-2 on the season, so Porter Moser will have to have his team ready to rock once again when the showdown tips off.
