Porter Moser not concerned about Oklahoma's focus
Despite a recent four-game losing streak, Oklahoma coach Porter Moser doesn’t plan to change anything about his approach. The Sooners (12-13, 2-10 Big 12) lost 78-55 to Kansas on Saturday to fall under .500, but Moser believes the team has to keep believing in the process.
“This coaching staff is not gonna do it,” he said. “These guys are not gonna allow it. We came back from Baylor and we got back at two in the morning on Wednesday. We had to get together and just start about putting a game plan together for the defending national champions. On Thursday, we couldn’t go live. Yesterday we went live a little bit.
“You want to stay fresh. They came out ready to go and it unraveled. All I know is preparation, pouring into these guys, pouring into habits of things we’ve gotta do. They’re not gonna see any difference from myself as the head coach and the staff of preparing, trying to win and get better.”
Oklahoma started out hot to score the first seven points of the game, and held the lead for the majority of the first half. However, Kansas used a 20-4 run over the final 7:35 of the first to take a 35-22 advantage into halftime. Oklahoma started strong in the second to cut the deficit as low as six, but things again got away from the Sooners as they quickly fell apart.

OU managed just seven points from the 15:27 mark until the 3:40 mark. The Sooners ended the game 20-of-56 shooting (35.7%) and 4-of-17 (23.5%) from 3-point range.
Just a little more than two weeks ago, Oklahoma was coming off a massive upset against then-No. 2 Alabama. Now the Sooners appear to have fallen out of the NCAA Tournament picture. If they do miss, it would mark the second straight season.
OU has just six games remaining on its schedule, with five coming against ranked opponents. That begins with a matchup against No. 12 Kansas State on Valentine’s Day, and Porter Moser isn’t going to change anything as he gets Oklahoma ready for that one.
