SEC Network host Jordan Rodgers predicts Spencer Rattler destination
Although Spencer Rattler hasn’t entered the transfer portal yet, SEC Network host Jordan Rodgers already has an idea where he’ll end up. Rodgers responded to a tweet from Pro Football Focus on Monday endorsing Rattler to Oxford, Mississippi, next season.
“Hotty Toddy,” The SEC Network host said. “No brainer.”
Rattler started the season as the Oklahoma starter but was benched for true freshman Caleb Williams in Week 6. Williams then earned his first career start the following week against TCU, leaving many to question Rattler’s future in Norman.
The Rebels were one of five teams listed in the original PFF tweet. The others included are UCLA, Georgia, Cincinnati and Arizona State.
No. 12 Ole Miss is currently 5-1 on the season with one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Junior quarterback Matt Corral currently leads the Rebels, so Rattler would have competition if Corral opts to return next year.
A five-star recruit in the class of 2019, Rattler was expected to be a candidate for the Heisman trophy this year. It’s safe to say that won’t be happening any longer, but it’s clear he has plenty of talent left and many teams would be eager to land him.

Transfer Portal
Boston College QB expected to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
During his first year as a starter in 2020, Rattler finished with 3,031 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He had already thrown five interceptions through six games this year, a major reason why he was benched. Williams has yet to throw a pick in his first two games.
Although Jordan Rodgers is by no means the expert authority on Spencer Rattler transfer news, it is interesting to consider the quarterback in an Ole Miss jersey. But for now, Rattler remains a Sooner. There is still a long season ahead and anything can happen. Until he officially puts his name in the transfer portal, any talk of where he will land is purely fun and speculation.
That said, watching Rattler team up with the defense of Georgia, another team on the list, would be a sight to behold.
