UT Martin RB transfer Sam Franklin commits to Oklahoma

Former UT Martin running back Sam Franklin has committed to Oklahoma, he announced on Monday via X.

Franklin played high school football at Little Rock (AR) High School, where he was an unranked prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

In 2023 for UT Martin, Franklin rushed for 1,378 yards and 11 touchdowns this season and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. He averaged 6.2 yards per carry on the year. In 2022, he contributed eight touchdowns and 676 yards during his redshirt freshman season.

This past season saw him compile at least 100 yards in seven-straight games for the Skyhawks. Two of those went over 200 yards as well. He will be a redshirt junior when he arrives on campus.

Franklin had seven games of rushing for at least 100 yards in 2023, including two with at least 220 yards. Against Georgia in the season opener, he rushed for 46 yards on 12 attempts.
