WATCH: Oklahoma fullback scores first rushing touchdown on trick play
Oklahoma fullback Jeremiah Hall scored his first career rushing touchdown from four yards out to give the Sooners a 10-7 lead over Kansas State. Despite scoring nine receiving touchdowns over his four seasons in Norman, Oklahoma. Hall had never crossed the goal line as a ball carrier until Saturday.
On his 10th career rushing attempt, Hall came around the end from his upback position after a play-action fake to the running back drew the defenders inside. With blockers in front, Hall made his way toward the corner of the endzone before crossing the plane.
In 26 career games coming into Saturday, Jeremiah Hall recorded 45 receptions for 473 yards and nine touchdowns for Oklahoma, adding nine carries for 35 yards. Over the course of his career, Hall has lined up all over the field whether listed as a fullback or tight end.
The versatile Oklahoma player is considered one of the top fullback prospects in the 2022 NFL draft class and was recently noted by ESPN’s Mel Kiper as a potential late-round pick.
Spencer Rattler responding to criticism
The pressure is on for the Sooners, particularly quarterback Spencer Rattler. A restless Oklahoma crowd started chanting for Caleb Williams to replace him last week after he threw an interception.
Three of the Sooners’ four victories have come by a touchdown or less.
Despite the criticism, Rattler has put together a solid campaign this season. Although perhaps not the Heisman season many predicted, he still leads the Big 12 in passing yards, completion percentage and passing touchdowns.

“I don’t worry about that at all. I don’t listen to it. They’re not on the field,” Rattler told ESPN’s Holly Rowe when asked about hearing the crowd booing at home. He then spoke about the offensive struggles.
“Just finding a way,” said Rattler. “These past couple of weeks, we’ve had to do that a couple games. And I think it’s going to be positive for us in the long run. We just got to play cleaner, do a couple things better and just finish and we’ll be good. We’re going to put it together. I have no doubt in that.”
If Rattler hopes to push away any doubt about his ability, it starts with establishing a connection with Sooners receiver Marvin Mims. Expected to be the No. 1 receiver in the offense, Mims had a 117 yards game in the opener against Tulane. Since then, he has failed to record more than 32 yards. He is also still searching for his first touchdown.
Although they might not have started the way fans wanted, the Sooners still have as good a chance as anyone to make the College Football Playoff.
