WATCH: Oklahoma Sooners reveal uniforms in Red River Rivalry fashion
Oklahoma revealed their uniforms for Saturday’s game against Texas with a nod to the tradition of the Red River Rivalry.
The video released on Oklahoma’s twitter on Friday morning, runs through the history of one of college football’s best rivalries, a game which has been played in Dallas since 1923.
Shown off by running back Kennedy Brooks, the all-white uniforms paired with white cleats and the timeless red helmets are revealed.
Struggling Oklahoma offense meets surging Texas
If history is any indication of how the battle at the Texas State Fair will go on Saturday, the game will come down to the wire. The last seven regular season games between the two future SEC teams have been one possession games. Based on the 3-point spread in favor of the Sooners tomorrow, experts are expecting another close contest.
Looking at the big picture, Oklahoma and Texas are largely trending in different directions.
After an embarrassing beatdown in Fayetteville, Texas has won three consecutive games with Casey Thompson as their starter, including a 32-27 rivalry game against TCU last weekend. This game has an added element of importance to Thompson, an Oklahoma native whose father was the starting quarterback at Oklahoma and whose brother played two years for the Sooners before transferring to Utah.

After a slower start, running back Bijan Robinson is ascending the Heisman lists of those across the country. The sophomore has 652 rushing yards this season, which is second in the country. Last week he ran for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
After a now 1-5 Tulane team nearly came back against a sleepy Oklahoma defense in Week 1, the Sooners defensemen have improved. The front seven, led by linebacker Nik Bonitto, will need to step up once again against a Texas offense that is second in the country in third down conversion percentage.
While the Sooners are undefeated, their offense is having a difficult time moving the ball for the first time in recent memory. Due in large part to their offensive line play, Oklahoma’s run game is averaging just 155 yards per contest, and quarterback Spencer Rattler is seemingly constantly running around the backfield escaping pressure.
Oklahoma showed a pulse last weekend against Kansas State, posting 37 points. One bright spot for the Sooners: Texas has the 93rd-best run defense in the country. If Oklahoma can get Brooks going as they did last week – he averaged over six yards per carry – he could cause major problems for the Longhorns defense.
The game kicks off at 11:00 a.m. CT on ABC. Texas leads the series 62-49-5 all-time.
