WATCH: Oklahoma wins epic Red River Showdown on Kennedy Brooks TD run
An unreal conclusion to an epic Red River Showdown. Kennedy Brooks etches his name into Oklahoma Sooners history — running for a 33-yard game-winning touchdown.
With one timeout, the Sooners were looking to run the football to pick up a couple yards for a game-winning field goal attempt. Instead, Brooks made a house call — winning the game himself.
Prior, Brooks gave Oklahoma a 48-41 lead on an 18-yard touchdown run earlier in the fourth quarter. After Texas tied it on a 31-yard Xavier Worthy touchdown, Oklahoma didn’t give the Longhorns another shot.
It was an all-time conclusion to an epic Red River Showdown. Miraculously, Oklahoma stayed undefeated on the season, and Texas is left wondering what if.
As for Kennedy Brooks, folk-hero status is in-store for the Sooners running back.
Oklahoma’s Unreal Comeback
Today’s Red River Showdown was one for the ages. In the beginning, Texas started hot — getting out to a quick 14-0 lead. Every-time Oklahoma tried to counter-punch, Texas was one step ahead of the Sooners.
Alas, it wouldn’t last in the second half — particularly in the fourth quarter.
First, Caleb Williams launched a prayer, and Marvin Mims answered it in the most spectacular fashion possible. The Sooners have came all the way back to tie the Longhorns, and an unreal touchdown catch by Mims is the reason why.
On 3rd & 19, Williams gave his wide receiver a shot. Somehow, Mims contorted his body is a way where he caught the football, stayed in bounds and found the end-zone.

The amazing 52-yard touchdown brought Oklahoma within two. Then, Lincoln Riley brought Spencer Rattler back into the game.
On the two-point conversion, Rattler found Drake Stoops for the successful attempt. Oklahoma and Texas were then tied 41-41.
Then, on the ensuing kickoff, Oklahoma kept their momentum by forcing a fumble and recovering it. On the next play, Kennedy Brooks galloped his way to an 18-yard touchdown — giving the Sooners a 48-41 lead.
Fast-forward, Brooks’ first touchdown was only a prelude for his game-winner. Now, he’s a hero in one of the most intense rivalries in all of college football.
