4-star wide receiver Stephon Johnson commits to Oklahoma State
Lancaster (Texas) DeSoto four-star wide receiver Stephon Johnson has committed to Oklahoma State, he announced Wednesday as part of National Signing Day.
Johnson chose the Cowboys over offers from SMU, Oregon and others. He was previously committed to the Ducks until early January. He took an official visit to Stillwater two weekends ago and spent his final visit at SMU. But the Cowboys ultimately won out.
He is the No. 450 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is ranked as the nation’s 69th-best wideout and 71st-best player in the state of Texas.

Johnson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $38,000. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
He joins an Oklahoma State recruiting class that ranks 27th in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
The core of the class are offensive skill position players and Johnson fits right in with that.
Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe four-star wide receiver Talyn Shettron, Beggs (Okla.) four-star running back CJ Brown, Euless (Texas) Trinity four-star running back Ollie Gordon Bixby (Okla.) four-star athlete Braylin Presley make up four of the Cowboys’ now seven four-star recruits.
