Former Michigan State wrestler Caleb Fish commits to Oklahoma State
Former Michigan State wrestler Caleb Fish committed to Oklahoma State, according to a release from the Cowboy RTC.
He’s the latest Big Ten middleweight to commit to Oklahoma State, following Wisconsin’s Dean Hamiti. The three-time NCAA qualifier goes into his final year of eligibility next season.
Fish was also the second noteworthy Michigan State wrestler to leave the program this offseason, following Chase Saldate’s departure to Michigan.
Fish is 75-37 in his career with the Spartans. He went 27-11 last season en route to a Round of 16 finish at the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships.
Fish is a three-time NCAA qualifier, getting to the Blood Round in 2024. Now that he and Hamiti are set to be on the same roster, there’s a question of the lineup. Hypothetically, one of them could move up to 174 for next season rather than one moving down to 157.

It remains to be seen, but Fish looks like a solid addition to Oklahoma State as the Cowboys reload for 2025.
To keep up with the latest players on the move, check out On3’s Transfer Portal wire.
The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.
The process of entering the portal is done through a school’s compliance office. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the office enters the player’s name in the database and everything is off and running. The compliance office has 48 hours to comply with the player’s request and that request cannot be refused.
Once a player’s name shows up in the portal, other schools can contact the player. Players can change their minds at any point and withdraw from the portal. However, once a player enters the portal, the current scholarship no longer has to be honored. In other words, if a player enters the portal but decides to stay, the school is not obligated to provide a scholarship anymore.
