Columbus (Texas) four-star quarterback Adam Schobel has flipped his commitment from Baylor to Oklahoma State, he announced on Monday.

He was pledged to the Bears since June 11 of last year, but has now opted to join Mike Gundy’s rising pledge list in Stillwater.

Schobel is the No. 247 overall prospect and No. 19 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 39 player in Texas.

“After a lot of thought I have decided to decommit from Baylor and officially commit to Oklahoma State,” Schobel wrote in his announcement on social media. “I would like to thank Coach Aranda and the whole Baylor Coaching staff for believing in me. Ready to get to work. Go Pokes!”

The addition of Schobel makes eight commitments for the Cowboys in the 2025 cycle. The class now ranks No. 31 in the nation and No. 4 in the Big 12, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Cowboys add major addition to 2025 class

Oklahoma State’s class has picked up steam in April, as it has added seven pledges this month.

Schobel now headlines the class and is flanked at the top by a pair of wide receivers in San Antonio Brandeis three-star Jaden Perez and Cibolo (Texas) Steele three-star Royal Capell.

“The biggest thing with Coach Gundy with me was he just kept it real,” Capell told On3 upon his commitment. “And anytime he said something, he also could back it up and prove it with the facts and just his energy. When you’re around him, he’s just a good guy, and him and also Coach Dunn, they’re real genuine people.”

Addison (Texas) Trinity Christian three-star interior offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley is a former Clemson commit who pledged to the Cowboys at the beginning of the month. McKinney (Texas) North three-star WR Kameron Powell, Wichita (Kan.) Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic three-star EDGE Kyle Keya and Owasso (Okla.) three-star IOL Ryker Haff have also joined the fold this month.
