Oklahoma State reveals special throwback orange/black uniforms

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have decided to take a deep dive back in time this weekend as they’ll commemorate their 125th season on the gridiron. The Cowboys are set to face Arizona State at 6 p.m. EST on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium as the central piece of their homecoming weekend.
And Oklahoma State will wear throwback uniforms honoring the Oklahoma A&M College Tigers.
Check out the uniforms with the orange stripes.
More on the Oklahoma State uniforms
The throwback uniforms are mostly black but include the earliest known logos and stripes of historical uniforms. The black helmet has an orange stripe down the middle with an “OA” logo that was the official logo of the O.A. Association, which was organized in October of 1909 by the athletes of Oklahoma A&M College.
This weekend will be the first time the “OA” emblem has been used at Oklahoma State since the beginning of World War I. The front of the helmet includes an “OAMC” logo, with a “Tigers” sticker on the back. It also has a “125” sticker on the back to honor the team’s 125th season in 2024.
The stripes are a tribute to OAMC’s first mascot name of the Tigers, which was the name for the school’s athletic teams until the early 1920’s. It was eventually replaced with Aggies, and later on, the Cowboys. If you want to see more about the uniforms, you can check out the video released by the university here.

Oklahoma State has hit a wall in the past five games and they’re in the middle of a five-game losing streak. They lost by 10 points to Baylor and lost a 38-35 heartbreaker to No. 13 BYU. Their next three games are against Arizona State, TCU, and Texas Tech, before they finish the season with a much-improved Colorado Buffaloes team.
The five-game losing streak is the first for the Oklahoma State program since 2014. OSU surrendered 345 rushing yards to Baylor, allowing the Bears their first 300-yard rushing game in three years. Cowboys star wideout Brennan Presley was one of the bright spots, hauling in 15 catches for 183 yards and one touchdown.
We’ll see if Oklahoma State can regroup and steady the ship for the final four games of the 2024 campaign.
