Oklahoma State weather delay: When will the Arizona State game resume?
Saturday’s game between Oklahoma State and Arizona State has entered a weather delay ahead of the second half. Lightning was detected near Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, prompting the delay as the Sun Devils held a 21-14 lead entering halftime.
The delay began around 4:20 p.m. CT and eventually, OSU revealed that the game is scheduled for a restart at 7 p.m. CT. That will make it just short of a three-hour delay for the game that started at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Per NCAA rules, the game will resume when it has been 30 minutes since lightning was seen within eight miles of the stadium. OSU issued the release below as a message for fans to leave open seating and wait in the covered areas of the stadium until play is cleared to resume.
“Thunderstorms with lightning are in the area and we are suspending play until further notice,” the release read. “If you are located in open air seating, proceed calmly to the area located under the stadium at this time.”
