Ollie Gordon to attend Big 12 Media Days following DUI arrest
Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II will be one of the program’s five representatives at Big 12 Media Days, per Zachary Lancaster. He will be joined by head coach Mike Gundy, quarterback Alan Bowman, linebacker Nick Martin and linebacker Collin Oliver.
Gordon was arrested on June 30 on suspicion of DUI and his status at the event was previously uncertain. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated Gordon was pulled over on Interstate 35 south of Oklahoma State after a trooper said he was going 82 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, per the report.
He was also swerving through traffic. Gordon was released from jail. With probable cause, Gordon’s car was searched and the trooper spotted a half-full bottle of vodka and a half-full bottle of tequila, per the report.
When Gordon was initially tested, he had a blood alcohol content level of .11. When he was tested again in jail, he recorded a BAC of .10.

ESPN’s Greg McElroy rated Gordon as the top running back in college football this year during a recent ranking on Always College Football. That’s due to the history that he could make with similar production for the ‘Pokes like the season prior.

“He’s going to try to join Jonathan Taylor, Darren McFadden, and Ricky Williams as the only running backs to ever win the Doak Walker Award twice,” McElroy said. “He was the obvious choice last year when looking at what he accomplished. He led the nation last year with over 1,700 rushing yards. Second in rushing touchdowns with 21 and second in yards after contact.”
On 285 carries, Gordon rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. Those were the most and second most respectively in those statistics in the nation. That averages out to 6.1 yards per carry and 123.7 per game. Remove those first three games as part of a committee with Elijah Collins and Jaden Nixon and those sit at 5.8 yards per rush and at 147.5 per contest.
As a member of the Class of 2022, Gordon was a four-star recruit out of Euless (Texas) Trinity, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
