There was an updated time announced on Friday evening, following a lengthy rain delay of the Stillwater Regional between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. The Cowboys currently trail Oral Roberts 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

The rain delay lasted 58 minutes, per the Oklahoma State Twitter page. Per the NCAA Baseball Twitter page, the Stillwater Regional on Friday night is set to resume art 9:05 PM EST.

Check out the announcement below.

Oral Roberts has been throttling the Cowboys for much of Friday night. After play resumed, the Golden Eagles were leading the Cowboys 5-0 in the fifth inning.

Oklahoma State was 41-18 overall on their 2023 campaign. The Cowboys are the No. 1 seed in the Stillwater Regional and the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles are the No. 4 seed in the regional. The other two teams in the Stillwater Regional are Dallas Baptist and the Washington Huskies. Dallas Baptist is the No. 2 seed and the Huskies are the No. 3 seed.

Washington defeated Dallas Baptist earlier on Friday 9-5. The Huskies piled on seven runs in the fifth inning to propel them to the victory. For a full look at the 2023 NCAA Tournament bracket check here.

Before the NCAA Tournament, Oklahoma State won four of their last six games. The Cowboys feature three batters with double digit home runs on the 2023 season: Roc Riggio, Nolan Schubart, and David Mendham. Riggio also leads the team in total bases and Schubart leads the team in RBIs.

Riggio has been one of the most dominant players on the Cowboys’ roster for the past two years. He piled up the accolades last year as a freshman, bringing home freshman All-American honors from D1Baseball.com. He finished his freshman year on a nine-game hitting streak–his longest of the year. Riggio was also named to the Stillwater Regional All-Tournament Team last year. He blasted four home runs in five games in the 2022 version of the Stillwater Regional.

Oklahoma State throttled their in-state rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, on a number of occasions during the 2023 campaign. They defeated the Sooners by double digits three times, while losing the other contest.

Cowboys pitcher Juaron Watts-Brown leads the team in strikeouts with 117.

If Oklahoma State loses on Friday night in the Stillwater Regional, they’ll face Dallas Baptist on Saturday. If they win, they’ll face the Washington Huskies.
