Kermit Davis has things rolling down in Oxford, as the Rebels land their fourth addition of the class, four-star prospect Amaree Abram.

The 6-foot-3 point guard joins four-star big man Malique Ewin, four-star SG TJ Caldwell, and three-star SG Robert Cowherd, who just so happens to be Abram’s high school teammate.

Abram was one of this season’s biggest stock risers, as he jumped 100+ spots in the rankings. He chose the Rebels over Louisville, DePaul, Maryland, amongst others.

Abram breaks down his decision

“I chose Ole Miss because I felt like that was the best fit for me. I feel like they’re the best school that’s going to get me to the next level. These coaches will push me and they will develop me as a player and a better man. Also, the school just felt like home, the support from the fans was crazy, and I bonded with the players quickly. It’s not too far from home either.”

Abram was originally committed to Texas A&M and is a native of the Lone Star State. However, he decided to back off his pledge to the Aggies, packed his bags, and headed to Los Angeles to play for Southern California Academy for his senior season.

At SoCal, Abram plays alongside some elite talent, nearly ten D1 prospects (see below).

Scouting Report

Amaree Abram is a cat-quick guard who mixes a crafty handle with quick-twitch athleticism. He is an aggressive paint-tough guard and has outstanding balance to finish in traffic. When he is locked in, Abram can be a good point-of-attack defender. The jump shot is streaky, but he is most confident pulling up off the bounce. Perhaps more of a combo than a true point, Abram is comfortable with the ball in his hands, in the half-court. He has a toughness to his mindset as well.
