4-star WR Noreel White commits to Ole Miss: 'They just stayed with me'
No football program has been in pursuit of Noreel White longer than Ole Miss.
The four-star wide receiver out of Ocean Springs (Miss.) St. Martin started hearing from the Rebels during his sophomore year. Even after he committed to Arkansas this spring, Lane Kiffin and Co. never relented.
On Friday, that consistency paid off as White announced his commitment to the Rebels over Arkansas, LSU and Mississippi State.
“Ole Miss just stayed with me,” he told On3. “They have been very consistent with me and they never gave up on me. That meant something. They showed me I was important to them and how much they care for us in-state guys. Ole Miss made me feel like I can stay home and be one of the best receivers in the program.”
White initially committed to Arkansas in March before decommitting from the Razorbacks on August 1. It was at that point he knew he wanted to stay home.
“I knew about three weeks ago that I was going to Ole Miss,” he said. “The environment is different. It is what I want to be in. The coaching staff made a difference with me too. They all want to be there and they plan to stay there. Then I am staying home and I don’t have to leave to have that support. That feels great…

… Ole Miss really came into the picture when I took that visit in July. When I committed to Arkansas, Ole Miss was recruiting me, but I was really feeling Arkansas. There really wasn’t a No. 2 school, but Ole Miss was coming after me.”
Noreel White loves Lane Kiffin’s offense and the coaching staff
Something about Oxford just felt like home for White. While it might be on the opposite end of the state from his home in Ocean Springs, the environment was just what he wants.
“They started recruiting me in the 10th grade and I have been up there three times,” he said. “I love the environment. I don’t know how to explain it. It just feels good. I can talk to people there about anything, and there is more to Ole Miss than just football. They want the best for their players after football.”
The dynamic offense under Lane Kiffin is something he’s also very excited about.
“Coach Kiffin’s system is great for me,” he added. “He is an offensive mind and he runs an exciting offense. We have a good relationship and he has that system I can do well in. Coach Kiffin is a cool, chill and laid-back. He has a great plan for Ole Miss and now he is working hard to keep the best in-state players home. That is going to make a difference.”
