Akron RB, former Michigan State transfer Jordon Simmons sign with Ole Miss

Akron running back Jordon Simmons has signed with the Ole Miss Rebels out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

The 6-foot, 192-pound Simmons has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining after leading the Zips with 664 rushing yards and two touchdowns over 11 games this past season. Simmons transfered to Akron following four years at Michigan State, where he tallied 520 rushing yards over 34 career cames in East Lansing.

Jordon Simmons played high school football at McEachern (Powder Spring, Ga.) High, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 563 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Ole Miss is once again active in the transfer portal so far this cycle and has another notable class, which currently ranks No. 3 in the On3 Team Transfer Portal Index.

Simmons is Ole Miss’ 21st 2025 addition out of the transfer portal, joining fellow running back Kewan Lacy (Missouri), cornerbacks Sage Ryan (LSU) and Jaylon Braxton (Arkansas), pass rushers Princewill Umanmielen (Nebraska) and Dashawn Womack (LSU), offensive linemen Patrick Kutas (Arkansas), Percey Lewis (Auburn), Delano Townsend (UAB) and PJ Wilkins (Charlotte), linebackers Tahj Chambers (Missouri State), Andrew Jones (Grambling) and Jaden Yates (Marshall), safety Antonio Kite (Auburn), tight ends Trace Bruckler (New Mexico) and Luke Hasz (Arkansas) and receivers Deuce Alexander (Wake Forest), Caleb Odom (Alabama), Traylon Ray (Wake Forest) and De’Zhaun Stribling (Oklahoma State).

West Virginia transfer WR Traylon Ray commits to Ole Miss

West Virginia transfer wide receiver Traylon Ray committed to Ole Misshe announced via social media. he entered the transfer portal Dec. 22.

Ray is coming off a visit to Ole Miss on Wednesday, sources told OM Spirit’s Billy Embody. He spent two years at WVU, totaling 426 yards this past season before entering the portal.

During his time with the Mountaineers, Ray totaled 747 yards and seven touchdowns. He will have two years of eligibility remaining as he makes his way to Ole Miss as the latest transfer portal splash for Lane Kiffin.
