Charlotte transfer offensive tackle PJ Wilkins commits to Ole Miss
Charlotte transfer offensive tackle PJ Wilkins officially committed to the Ole Miss Rebels on Thursday evening. He announced the move via his Twitter page. Charlotte just recently announced the hiring of former Ohio head coach Tim Albin, who led the Bobcats to their first MAC Championship since 1968.
Albin also led Ohio to three straight 10-win seasons, something that will undoubtedly be difficult for any coach to accomplish there. Ole Miss finished 9-3 overall this year, and they currently rank No. 14 in the College Football Playoff Rankings, just missing this year’s 12-year version of the CFP.
The Rebels landed his former high school teammate, Da’Shawn Womack, earlier on Thursday. Ole Miss will prepare to face off against the Duke Blue Devils in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. The Blue Devils have had a very impressive season by their standards, finishing with a 9-3 overall record in the first season under the helm of Manny Diaz.

Ole Miss lost a tough game to the Florida Gators on Nov. 23rd, 24-17, one that basically knocked them out of the upcoming College Football Playoffs. The Rebels still managed to take care of their rivals, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 26-14. The win ensured a Top 15 finish for Ole Miss, and they’ll get the opportunity to face off against an incredibly hungry and talented Duke team.
Duke is one of four schools nationally with multiple wide receivers with 740 or more receiving yards and seven or more touchdowns. Jordan Moore and Eli Pancol surpassed both of those markers this season. The Blue Devil defense has been impressive this season and they rank among the nation’s best in multiple categories. They lead in the country in fumbles recovered (14), rank second nationally in tackles for loss per game (9.17), third in sacks per game (3.33), and sixth in total turnovers gained (26).
